Parker Dance Academy Presents

Come and join us on Friday, Oct 2nd for a performance like Parker Dance has never done before. This performance will turn our studio into a multi-dimensional, poetry in motion performance installation dance gallery! We are using the works of Shel Silverstein as our inspiration and these performances have been created by a selection of our company dancers.

SHOW INFORMATION:
  • The performance will start at 7:30pm and go until 9pm, it is completely open to the public and hopefully allows itself for whatever level of comfort you need, including just watching select performances.
  • The performance is free but we will have a donation jar with a suggested donation of $10 per person. We will also be selling our PDA calendars.
  • Families are welcome to stop by and go through the studio to see different pieces in every room (inside and out!). This allows for safe distancing between viewers and if you do not feel comfortable coming inside will still have many beautiful performances to watch outside.
  • Prepare in advance with our performance schedule here: Map and Schedule.
  • If you plan to watch every different installation you should plan to start at 7:30pm and then end at 9pm (the whole experience takes the full time). The performances will start promptly 7:30pm, so please arrive early if you plan to see a 7:30pm dance.
  • Our goal is to create a COVID friendly visual installation, and a fun evening activity for our community, and we are doing our best to make this happen! Precautions and procedures have been put in place with this in mind.
  • PARKING:
    • We will be blocking off the front parking lot for viewers to stand, please plan to park in the lower parking lot near the escape room and walk up the stairs.
  • ARRIVAL:
    • Please remember that this performance will be at night and it will be DARK. While you are outside, especially when you are crossing the street. Remember that people driving through there use it as a thorough fair and so please be ultra careful and aware. Keep any children with you close by!
  • ACTUAL PERFORMANCE:
    • Don’t forget to stop by the welcome table and get your program when you arrive! 
    • There are several ways to enjoy this performance, it is designed to be walked through like a circle, enjoying the pieces in a variation order from #1-#9.
    • You can start at any performance you want and then follow the arrows and keep going around the circle.
    • If you would prefer to stay outside, you can choose your own path.
    • The indoor performances will go in a rotation starting at #4 going through #7. Groups of 12 at a time will be allowed in the different spaces for the indoor performances.
    • Entrance to the indoor performances will be through the yellow studio side door and exiting through front door.
    • There will be X’s on the floors in the various indoor performance areas to help with social distancing.
    • We will be filming the performance and will be sharing the videos afterwards, we are going to do this instead of a live stream to make sure quality of the videos is good and loss of internet connection is not a factor
