Thursday Dec 19th Dress Rehearsal
at Ponderosa High School
4:00-4:30pm
Tree Drop/Removal/Cannon Removal: Party Dads, Assigned Soldiers
We will run through the dropping of the christmas tree and the transition to the snowy forest a few times to make sure it is running smoothly.
4:30pm-4:50pm EXTRA
Flowers, Other Needs
BE ON TIME PLEASE! Please come directly to the auditorium. We will block these on stage and run in full costume during Act II. No costumes, wear dance practice clothes; have hair/make up done please.
4:45pm CALL
SHOW 1 cast will perform during the dress rehearsal.
- “Call” means everyone is expected to arrive at the theater with the exception of the Mother Ginger dancers who can arrive no later than 6:15.
- Little Angels, Chinese Corps, can arrive anytime to sit in the auditorium with a parent, but not later than 8pm (because they are not in Act I).
- This is an open rehearsal and parents are ok to be in the theater to watch.
The following dances will have a “blocking” rehearsal. Our goal is for Kd-2nd graders to not stay until late into the pm so, they will be “blocked” in before the actual rehearsal without costumes or makeup.
4:50-5:10pm Blocking
Snowy Forest: Flurries, Crystals, Icicles, Clara, Nutcracker, Snow Queen and Attendants Shelly
BE ON TIME PLEASE! Please come directly to the auditorium. We will block it on the stage. We will run it in full costume during Act I. No costumes. Wear dance practice clothes and have hair/make up done.
5:10-5:25pm Blocking
Arabian: Scarf corps, Basket Corps, Soloist, and Attendants Kendra
BE ON TIME PLEASE! Please come directly to the auditorium. We will block it on the stage. We will run it in full costume during Act II without the basket and scarf corps. No costumes. Wear dance practice clothes and have hair/make up done.
5:25-5:40pm Blocking
All Mother Ginger dancers: Gingerbreads, Baby Ds, Clara and Mother Ginger
- BE ON TIME PLEASE! Please come directly to the auditorium. We will practice on the stage with the Mother Ginger apparatus.
- We are practicing this dance out of order so younger dancers don’t have to stay late.
- After this they will go to the dressing room to get ready for Act 1 (Little Mouse, Little Clara, Little Soldier, and ALL Mice) with costumes and make up.
- No costumes. Wear dance practice clothes and have hair/makeup done.
6-7:30pm (approx.) Act 1 Curtain
Party girls, boys, Friends, Maids, Parents, Dolls, Little Characters, Clara/Fritz, Dross, Nutcracker, Mouse Queen, Big/Little Mice, Mama Mice, ALL Soldiers, Crystals, Icicles, Flurries, Snow Queen, Snow Soloists and Corps
If we have a SHOW 2 cast, they will perform for dress rehearsal
- Full hair and makeup is required and should be done at home before arriving.
- We will try to run it without stopping, but problem spots may need to be repeated so DO NOT leave until you have been formally dismissed.
Mice and Mother Ginger dancers will be dismissed around 8pm.
Crystals/Basket corps will be dismissed around 8:30pm.
- Please know that NO FOOD OR SOFT DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE DRESSING ROOMS. ONLY WATER. All eating must be done in the hallway and you must wear a cover up over your costume (robes and footie pjs are suggested). For our younger dancers we also ask that you bring a blanket, which we use to designate each student’s area.
- NO orange snacks (i.e. Cheetos, Doritos, Goldfish, etc.), chocolate, go-gurt, yogurt, or snacks that require a spoon please!
- YES to: pretzels, graham crackers/Teddy Grahams, plain popcorn, crackers such as Wheat Thins, Ritz, etc., Nilla Wafers, cheese sticks/string cheese, Lunchables/cheese & crackers.
7:30-7:45pm (approx.)
Change sets and costumes for Act II
7:45-9:15pm (approx.) Act II Curtain
Angels, Prologue, Spanish, Marzipan, Russian, Arabian, Chinese, Flowers, Sugar Plum, Finale, Bows.
NO Mother Ginger, Arabian Corps dancers.
- We will run Act II WITHOUT Mother Ginger or Arabian Corps dancers.
- Full hair and makeup is required.
- Any problem spots will be addressed.
- PLEASE DO NOT leave until you are dismissed because we WILL practice bows after Finale.
- Even if you are not in the Finale, you ARE in Bows, and we will practice them at the end. Dancers who have done their dance and are waiting to do bows can watch in the audience!
Friday Dec 20th
Show #1
at Ponderosa High School
5:15-6:15pm Warm Up on Stage
(Ballet 7/8, Pointe 1, 2/3, 4/5, Teen Ballet only)
Ballet warm up on stage. BE ON TIME PLEASE! Meet onstage. Wear warm ups. Hair should already be done and makeup started.
6:15-6:30pm Blocking
OPEN STAGE for blocking or last- minute rehearsals
6:30pm CALL
All performers should be at the theater getting ready.
- BE ON TIME PLEASE! Remember to put your name in ALL shoes, tights, coverups etc. Bring extra bobby pins, safety pins, and hair spray.
- A Lost and Found box will be at the theater. Hair and makeup should be done at home.
- Please wear a cover up over your nude leotard and tights when you arrive, robes and footie pjs are suggested for younger dancers, basically something that won’t ruin their hair!
- Also, for our younger dancers we ask that you bring a blanket, which we use to designate each “student’s area”
7pm Curtain Show #1
SHOW 1 cast
- Flowers, snacks, and bottled water will be sold in the lobby.
- Students will be allowed to go on the stage for photos after the show, we ask that no dancers go in the front lobby in
costume! - Students will be dismissed in the hallway where you dropped them off.
Saturday Dec 21st
Show #2
at Ponderosa High School
10:30am-12:00pm
(Ballet 7/8, Pointe 1, 2/3, 4/5, Teen Ballet only)
MANDATORY pre performance warm up at the studio. This warm up will take place at PDA! BE ON TIME PLEASE! Wear warm ups. These dancers should eat lunch and then be at the theater around 1pm to mark things on stage.
1:00-1:30pm Open Stage
OPEN STAGE for blocking or last- minute rehearsals
1:30pm CALL
All performers should be at the theater getting ready.
