Nutcracker Audition Day Schedule

Parker Dance Academy presents The Nutcracker

We are so excited for our upcoming Nutcracker Auditions held 9/12/26!

Please read this information page carefully so you are fully prepared and aware of the schedule for the day. We want every dancer to feel confident, excited, and ready to shine.

We cannot wait to see what each and every dancer brings to the audition. Your energy, passion, and hard work will help make this story truly magical.

Come ready to dance, inspire, and have fun. We are so excited to begin bringing the magic of The Nutcracker to life!


10:30am–12:00pm: All Pointe level dancers — Ballet 4, Ballet 5, & Ballet 6

Audition Dress Code: hair in a clean bun or French twist, clean pink ballet tights, please bring your ballet flats and pointe shoes, black leotard, skirt is optional. Absolutely no shorts or sweats.

Registration begins at 10:00am. A ballet barre on flat will be included in this audition. Students should plan to arrive by 10:15am at the latest to begin warming themselves up in the Green Studio prior to the start of auditions.

Pointe dancers may audition for the following roles: Snow Queen and Soloists, Dew Drop, Dolls, Maids, Mouse Queen, Pointe Soldier Soloists, Snow Corps, Pointe Angels, Spanish, Marzipan, Russian, Arabian, Chinese, Pointe Bakers, and Flowers.


12:00–12:30pm: Sugar Plum Fairy

Audition Dress Code: hair in a clean bun or French twist, clean pink ballet tights, please bring your ballet flats and pointe shoes, black leotard, skirt is optional. Absolutely no shorts or sweats.

Sugar Plum is open to dancers 13+. You must know the variation at the audition and be prepared to perform it for us. Dancers auditioning for Sugar Plum must attend the 10:30–12pm audition as well. Sugar Plum auditions will happen in number order and potentially in pairs. Please click the link below to watch and learn the video.

Variation to Learn

1:45–2:45pm: Age 5–8

Audition Dress Code: hair in a clean bun, clean pink ballet tights, ballet shoes, black or pink leotard, skirt is optional. Absolutely no shorts or sweats.

Registration begins at 1:15pm. Please arrive no later than 1:30pm. Please come ready to dance and have fun!

The roles you may be cast in include: Little/Big/Mama Mice, Gingerbreads, Chefs, Bakers, Baby Divertissements, Little Angels, Crystals, Icicles, Chinese, Arabian, and Flower Buds.


3:00–4:00pm: Age 9 and older (including all dancers not on pointe yet)

Audition Dress Code: hair in a clean bun, clean pink ballet tights, ballet shoes, black leotard, skirt is optional. Absolutely no shorts or sweats.

Registration begins at 2:00pm. There will be no formal warm up during this audition time, and we will be looking at flexibility, story telling, and overall technique, so please arrive at the studio no later than 2:30pm to prepare and warm up in the Green Studio on your own.

The roles you may be cast in include: Party girls/boys, Fritz, Soldiers, Clara’s Friends, Spanish, Marzipan, Russian, Chinese, Arabian Demis/Scarves (Arabian), Flower Garlands, Flower Buds, and Icicles.


4:15–5:00pm: Clara Audition

Audition Dress Code: hair in a bun, or half up/half down style, clean pink ballet tights, ballet shoes or pointe shoes if you are on pointe, black leotard, skirt is optional. Absolutely no shorts or sweats.

The dancer for this role must be 11 or older and must also be trying out for other parts; it’s preferred but not required to have been in one Nutcracker already.

Please learn the little solo Clara does with her Nutcracker doll during the party scene (the pas de polka). If you are on pointe, please wear your pointe shoes.

Students auditioning for Clara will keep their same number as the earlier audition and do not need to re-register or re-pay. During the break between auditions, students are welcome to stay and utilize the Pink & Blue Studio to practice, change their hair, and refresh with plenty of water and a snack before the audition starts.
