PERFORMANCE WEEKEND AT PONDEROSA HIGH SCHOOL

2017

FRIDAY THE 15th

MANDATORY FRIDAY DRESS REHEARSAL PONDEROSA HIGH SCHOOL (open to parents)

6pm CALL

This is theater talk for when everyone is expected at the theater with the exception of the Mother Ginger dancers who can arrive no later than 6:20. Third grade Angels/Chinese can arrive anytime to sit in the auditorium with a parent, but not later than 8pm (because they are not in Act 1).

The following dances will have a “blocking” rehearsal:

Our goal is for Kd-2nd graders to not have to stay until the end so they will be “blocked” in before the actual rehearsal without costumes.

6-6:10 Snowy Forest (Icicles, Crystals, Clara, Nutcracker, Snow Queen and Attendants)

No costumes. Wear dance practice clothes and have hair/make up done. Please come directly to the auditorium. We will block it on the stage. We will run it in full costume during Act 1.

6:10-6:20 Arabian (Scarf girls, Basket girls, soloist and Corps)

No costumes. Wear dance practice clothes and have hair/makeup done. Please come directly to the auditorium. We will block it on the stage. We will run it again in full costume during Act 2 WITHOUT THE BASKET GIRLS.

6:20-6:35pm all Mother Ginger dancers (Gingerbreads, Bakers, Baby D's, and Mother Ginger)

No costumes. Wear dance practice clothes and have hair/makeup done. Please come directly to the auditorium. We will practice on the stage with the Mother Ginger apparatus. We are practicing this dance out of order so that the girls don't have to stay as late. The dancers should just wear their dance practice clothes. After this they will go to the dressing room to get ready for Act 1 (Little Mouse, Little Clara, Little Soldier, and Little and Big Mice) with costumes and make up.

7-8:30pm (approximate) ACT 1

(Party girls, boys, Friends, Maids, Parents, Dolls, Little Characters, Clara/Fritz, Dross, Nutcracker, Rat King, Big/Little Mice, Mama Mice, Soldiers, Crystals, Icicles, Snow Queen, Attendants, Snow corps and soloists)

Full hair and make up is required and should be done at home before arriving. We will try to run it without stopping, but problem spots may need to be repeated so DO NOT leave until you've been formally dismissed. (Mice who are also Mother Ginger dancers will be dismissed after Battle Scene is over and can go home).

Be advised that NO FOOD OR SOFT DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE DRESSING ROOMS. ONLY WATER. All eating must be done in the hallway and you must wear a cover up over your costume. Hair and make up should be done at home.

No orange snacks (i.e. Cheetos, Doritos, Goldfish, etc.).  No chocolate.
Yes to: pretzels, graham crackers/Teddy Grahams, plain popcorn/Pirate's Booty, crackers such as Wheat Thins, Ritz, etc., Nilla Wafers, cheese sticks/string cheese, Lunchables/cheese & crackers.

8:30-8:45pm (approximate) Change sets and costumes for Act 2

Be advised that NO FOOD OR SOFT DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE DRESSING ROOMS. ONLY WATER. All eating must be done in the hallway and you must wear a cover up over your costume.

8:45-10:15pm (approximate) ACT 2 (Angels, Prologue, Spanish, Marzipan, Russian, Arabian, Chinese, Flowers, Sugar Plum, Finale, Bows) No Mother Ginger dancers, no Basket Girls.

We will run Act 2 WITHOUT Mother Ginger dancers or Arabian Basket girls. Full hair and make up is required. Any problem spots will be addressed.
